Project Overview

We are looking to build a print design magazine template for a quarterly production. We are looking for a volunteer who has experience in areas such as graphic design, art direction, work with print products, and similar, to assist us with building standardized page templates that we can utilize for this magazine.Peerbagh is a nonprofit committed to diversifying bookshelves and building storytellers. We are looking to create the world's first South-Asia-inspired global children's magazine. Our contributors include BIPOC writers, illustrators, and student reporters from 4 different countries. We already have the written content ready the first magazine publication. We need help in designing a template that can be used for the magazine now. It will be a quarterly print magazine. Once the template is defined, we plan to reuse it for future issues.

Nonprofit Overview

Peerbagh’s mission is to improve teacher, librarian, and parent skills and bring the lost art of storytelling into the classroom or teaching environment through art, creative writing, theater, cultural inquisitiveness, and oral storytelling.

We conduct South-Asia-inspired storytelling workshops, publish children’s books and story capsules (audio and video), and create toolkits for educators and families. We create an inclusive space for ALL children, so they have a sense of belonging and build creative confidence.

We provide tools for families and educators so they will be empowered to be cultural change agents. Through these tools, we train educators and parents to introduce diverse perspectives and critical thinking in children.

We also support South Asian and other global artists in these areas to revive or practice their art forms.

We work out of Austin, Montreal, Dehradun, and via Zoom screens everywhere.
