Project Overview

How could our nonprofit use technology to build a stronger infrastructure? We need your help answering that question!

We're looking for someone to evaluate and advise us about our technology tools. Our team will share a detailed description of our existing systems and the tools we use for email, file sharing, program management, web hosting, web design, and customer relationship management (CRM). After assessing our basic needs, you'll make high-level recommendations to our team about ways to improve some of our basic processes or identify tools we can grow into as we mature. You'll need to keep our team and budget size in mind when considering tech solutions.

The Empowered Closet is growing quickly, and we need help getting our tech up to speed. As a nonprofit helping families with essentials like diapers, formula, and clothing, we rely on smooth operations—but I’ll be honest, I’m pretty old school. I’m a habitual paper trail maker and not super familiar with tech in situations like this. We need someone to help us transition from manual processes to a system that can handle the growing demand.

Upgrading our IT infrastructure will:
-Make it easier to communicate with families, volunteers, and donors.
-Help us securely track donations, inventory, and requests. Improve our online presence so more people can find and support us.
-Simplify volunteer scheduling, letting us focus more on helping families.

By getting the right systems in place, we’ll be able to work more efficiently and reach more people, staying aligned with our mission to empower families during life’s tough moments. If you’re tech-savvy and want to make a big impact, we could really use your expertise! Volunteering with us means helping a growing nonprofit modernize its systems, solving real-world challenges, and being part of a passionate team that’s making a difference. Your skills will have a lasting, positive impact—and I’d personally love the support navigating this new tech territory!

We have our website through Carrd (which I've been able to figure out very basic functions but not comfortable at all!) Google is set up & I feel when searching for us online, we have a pretty good presence. I did go a bit crazy with signing up on multiple nonprofit sites in hopes it would make it all easier, but it hasn't Certain things I needed to create involved signing up for other services that I used just to set up. I'm still unsure if our Google Ad Grants are working. I have MailChimp and believe that's how we can manage our info, but am unable to configure what's needed on our website.
