Strategic Plan Implementation
Fathers, Families, & Healthy Communities (FFHC) is seeking the expertise of a skilled Taproot volunteer to assist us in transforming our strategic plan into a comprehensive business and implementation plan. Our strategic plan identifies eight key priorities central to FFHC’s mission of supporting Black fathers and strengthening families. To operationalize this vision, we require a multifaceted approach: Develop a Business and Implementation Plan: A detailed roadmap that connects strategic goals with actionable steps, resource allocation, and performance metrics. This project will provide us with an actionable roadmap, aligning our strategic goals with measurable steps and equipping us with a deeper understanding of the financial investments required for sustainable program delivery.
At FFHC, we are deeply committed to transforming the lives of Black fathers and strengthening families by addressing systemic barriers and creating opportunities for growth, healing, and empowerment. Our mission is rooted in fostering thriving communities through culturally responsive programming, strategic advocacy, and operational excellence. This project will enable us to develop a comprehensive business and implementation plan while determining the true cost of programming, both of which are essential to advancing our mission. With these tools, we will ensure the sustainability and scalability of our programs, align our strategic goals with actionable steps and measurable outcomes, and advocate for funding with clear financial transparency and evidence-based resource needs. Additionally, we will build operational resilience to navigate challenges while maintaining the high-quality services our communities depend on. These outcomes will significantly strengthen our ability to deliver transformative programs to Black fathers, improving their quality of life and fostering stronger family and community systems.
To ensure the success of this collaboration, we have taken deliberate steps to prepare. Our leadership team and board are fully aligned and committed to the project, demonstrating strong organizational buy-in. We have gathered essential materials, including our strategic plan, program data, and financial reports, to provide clarity and context for our volunteer partner. Additionally, we have a dedicated internal team ready to collaborate closely with the volunteer, track progress, and integrate outcomes into our daily operations. Our experience partnering with external experts and consultants on similar strategic projects has equipped us with the skills to collaborate effectively, communicate transparently, and act on expert guidance. These preparations reflect our commitment to making the most of this partnership and ensuring that the outcomes are sustainably implemented across our organization.
At FFHC, we are committed to setting this project up for success by ensuring clear communication, active collaboration, and dedicated leadership involvement throughout the process. Our organization is currently led by two executive leaders who will play a central role in guiding this project from start to finish.
We will begin with an introductory meeting between the volunteer and our executive leaders to provide a detailed overview of our organization, including our mission, vision, strategic priorities, and the specific areas where we are seeking Taproot’s expertise. This meeting will establish a shared understanding of our goals and set the foundation for a strong partnership.
To support the volunteer's work, we will share key organizational documents, including our strategic plan, vision statements, program data, and relevant financial reports. These materials will provide valuable context and clarity, serving as a foundation for the volunteer to develop the business and implementation plan, determine the true cost of programming, design a fundraising strategy, and create marketing collateral materials.
Following the initial meeting, we will establish a schedule of regular touchpoints to maintain momentum, address any questions, and ensure alignment on deliverables. Our Operations Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day communication, project coordination, and progress tracking. Additionally, our Executive Director will remain engaged at key milestones to provide strategic direction, feedback, and support as needed.
We are fully prepared to dedicate the time, attention, and resources necessary to ensure this collaboration is productive and impactful. Our team values transparency, responsiveness, and accountability, and we are excited to work closely with a Taproot volunteer to achieve outcomes that will strengthen FFHC’s ability to serve Black fathers and their families with excellence.
