Staff Compensation Guidance

We need a volunteer who can virtually deliver concrete recommendations for a staff compensation guide.

Our nonprofit needs your help to build organizational resiliency by investing in our people. During this project, a volunteer will assess our existing compensation policies, conduct research on the existing market practices, and create a tailored policy based on our internal needs and industry best practices. We are looking for a policy that takes into account cost of living adjustments, hardship pay, and salary bands based on experience and expertise.

Create a compelling pitch for potential volunteers! Detail how this project will help your organization achieve its goals. Volunteers love to know how their time and talents will impact community members—give them a sneak peek of the impact they’ll be supporting in this section!

Engineers in Action is a Non-Profit Organization building sustainable rural infrastructure led by local expertise powered by global partners.

We are a people-focused organization, and we believe our team and staff are our greatest asset. It is critical to our mission to recruit and retain dedicated employees, and as an organization that values transparency, we want to build a policy that is respectful, intentional, and transparent.

Fill volunteers with confidence that you'll be a great pro bono partner! Tell us about the preparations you've made for this work (gaining internal buy-in, gathering materials, completing other related Taproot Plus Projects, etc.). Sharing how the project outcomes will be implemented by your team is also a great move.

This project will involve the exchange of sensitive internal information. With that in mind, we've done the pre-work internally to ensure staff buy-in and have gathered the information that will be handed off to the volunteer. We can provide our current staff database, existing compensation package, and a specific scope of work. The recommendations shared by our volunteer partner will be incorporated into our operations and people strategy in the coming months.

EIA seeks to alleviate rural poverty by leveraging the resources of our global partners to engage underserved communities and their governments to implement life-changing WASH projects and the bridges needed to access them. This simultaneously provides solutions to rural poverty and builds local capacity to maintain those solutions for generations to come.
