We are looking for a volunteer who can develop a volunteer handbook or make updates to our existing materials. We're hoping to find a partner with a background in HR and/or operations to improve transparency and accountability by clarifying our employees’ legal rights and our policies, benefits, and other expectations for performance and conduct in a new or revised employee handbook. This project will contain the following activities:

-Conducting an audit of our existing policies including reviewing our existing materials and asking any clarifying questions
-Identify policies that we should modify and any new policies or areas that should be addressed and included
-Present a detailed outline of a new handbook
-Finalize the handbook after receiving feedback from our team

Imagine being the creator of a guide that empowers every volunteer to make a real difference from their very first shift to leading major events. By helping us craft our Volunteer Handbook, you’ll shape the playbook that ensures every team member feels confident, informed, and ready to support neurodivergent job seekers. Your words will translate into clearer training, smoother events, and stronger connections with the people we serve. Join us, and you’ll not only leave behind a tool that saves our staff hours each week, you’ll directly boost the quality of care, coaching, and community we deliver. Be the voice that guides our volunteers toward life changing impact!

To prepare, we've designated a team member to oversee the project. We'll provide you with our existing Employee Handbook (if applicable), internal communications regarding employment policies, and any other employment policies that we have in place. The volunteer should expect to spend 15-20 hours over 4-5 weeks.

At The Steven Spectrum Career Project, we believe in the power of diversity and the strength of inclusion. Our mission is simple yet profound – to bridge the gap and create employment opportunities for neurodiverse individuals. We empower the neurodivergent community by providing them with the necessary skills, training, and support to succeed in the workforce. Through our programs and initiatives, we strive to break down barriers and challenge societal misconceptions about neurodiversity.
