Seeking Expertise to Create a Strong Volunteer Program

We want to work with a skilled volunteer to create a structured volunteer recruitment and onboarding program for our organization. Specifically, we need guidance on:

Recruitment: How to attract and engage volunteers who are passionate about our mission, including creating clear role descriptions and outreach strategies.

Onboarding: How to effectively orient new volunteers so they understand our mission, feel connected to our team, and are equipped to contribute meaningfully from the start.

Engagement and Retention: Strategies to help volunteers feel invested in our work and motivated to stay involved long-term.

Our goal is to have a repeatable process that allows us to build a strong volunteer base, even as a small, fully volunteer-run organization. We envision the volunteer partner helping us draft templates, processes, and best practices that we can implement immediately and refine over time.

This project will directly support Brownpreneurs’ mission of empowering students from underrepresented communities to develop entrepreneurship skills and leadership abilities. By creating a clear workflow for recruiting, onboarding, and engaging our Impact Agents (volunteers), we will be able to expand our volunteer base efficiently and effectively.

Volunteers who help design this process will be enabling us to provide more hands-on mentorship, guidance, and program support for our students—helping them gain real-world skills in business, marketing, and leadership. Their work will ensure that every volunteer feels invested and ready to make a meaningful impact, ultimately helping us reach more students, strengthen our programs, and empower the next generation of minority entrepreneurs.

We are ready to set this project up for success by providing all the context and materials a volunteer would need to create a clear, actionable workflow for our volunteer program. We have full internal buy-in and are committed to implementing the process once it is designed.

Our goal is simple: we need someone to map out the steps for recruiting, onboarding, and engaging our volunteers—whom we call Impact Agents because we deeply value the critical role they play in our organization. Once the workflow is created and the steps are clearly outlined, our team will take it from there, handling the execution internally.
