Our organization aims to create a more robust, high-performing, and user-friendly iOS application that better supports our rapidly expanding programs and outreach. As we continue to grow initiatives such as Street Care and our micro-school project, we are seeking a skilled volunteer to assist in developing new app features, improving performance, resolving technical issues, and integrating enhanced functionality through Firebase and Google Cloud APIs.

The volunteer will help us refine the app’s interface, improve responsiveness, embed analytics, and ensure the application aligns with Apple’s design standards. We welcome volunteers with diverse experience levels—from seasoned engineers to motivated learners—and will tailor project tasks accordingly. With the support of a knowledgeable developer, we aim to build an app that effectively connects users with essential services, storytelling tools, and community-based resources.
By contributing to the development and enhancement of our iOS application, the volunteer directly strengthens our ability to deliver compassionate, community-centered support to vulnerable populations. Our app serves as a vital tool for volunteers, caregivers, and community members seeking resources, connection, and opportunities to support individuals experiencing hardship—particularly through our Street Care initiative.

A high-quality, accessible mobile application enables us to scale outreach, deepen engagement, and provide real-time tools for those doing work in the field. The volunteer’s efforts will empower our organization to extend our mission of compassion, education, and social uplift to even more individuals nationwide. Their work behind the scenes translates into tangible positive impact in the lives of people who rely on our programs and services.
Our team has prepared for this project by gathering all existing application documentation, defining priority features, and outlining technical needs based on user feedback and program expansion. We have organized access to Firebase, Google Cloud APIs, version control systems, and internal development repositories so the volunteer can onboard smoothly.

To ensure effective collaboration, we have established communication channels with our cross-functional teams—including program leads, designers, and technical partners—who will provide timely feedback and support. We have also identified a project liaison to coordinate questions, share assets, streamline code review processes, and assist with testing periods. These preparations enable the volunteer to work efficiently while contributing meaningfully to the next phase of app development.

Organization Mission

Bright Mind is a community wellness education organization. BME was just featured on ABC, CBS, Politico, Newsweek, and many more outlets for our vaccination project and we need more people to join us as we continue to solve urgent social issues! CBS News said of our newest app: "Health experts have said friends and family are key to getting those who aren't vaccinated and experts say this (Vaccination Rewards) app will start those conversations. "Bright Mind recently launched Street Care, a massive initiative built by our homelessness and wellness experts, 'your toolkit to help homeless people.' We have an app, an expanding series of informational materials and instructional videos (25+ already), and more (at streetcare.us). We are pioneering an online and on-the-streets outreach approach, accessible to everyone. We are passionate about building community. This is a crucial time to create positive change, and we look forward to working together as we accomplish great things together!
